Event Details

The Philadelphia Water Department, in partnership with the University of Pennsylvania, the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, Montgomery County Conservation District, Pennsylvania Enviromental Council, Temple-Villanova Sustainable Stormwater Initiative, Drexel University, Philadelphia University, Community College of Philadelphia and ARWA present Green City, Clean Waters on Friday, October 15th, 2010, 8:00 am to 5 pm. The conference will be hosted by the University of Pennsylvania in the Bodek Lounge, located on 34th and Spruce Streets.

Join us as we explore Green City, Clean Waters - the innovative, 20-year $1.6 billion plan that offers a sustainable approach to improving the City's waterways, while leaving behind a green legacy for future generations. Conference topics include a report on the progress of the programs and projects of Green City, Clean Waters; case studies that highlight how institutions, businesses, communities and schools are embracing green stormwater projects; insight into the experiences of PWD customers as they go green; and a special opportunity to explore and contribute to the future of PWD's Green Programs: Green Streets, Green Homes, Green Open Space, Green Schools, Green Business/Industry, Green Alleys, Green Parking and Green Public Facilities.

Finally, there will be a chance to conduct self-guided green stormwater infrastructure tours after the conference.
